First of all becoming an author is not the same as writing a book and publishing it. To become an author you technically do not need to be the one whose fingers are literally doing the typing. That is called the writer. The author is the person whose idea it is and whose name goes on the cover. It's important to understand this first and foremost.
You might be wondering, does that still make me an author? Yes, it does. Look if you want to write your book, and publish it, and go through that whole process on your own, trust me it will take you several years. Not to mention most people procrastinate and never finish their books. It's a very dense process, and who can blame them! With all of the responsibilities we already have in our daily lives, imagine the intensity of writing a book all on your own piled right on top. It just doesn't work!
Now, you might be wondering well. Didn't you write your books Nathan? I did technically write them, but bare in mind I also own a graphic design company and have a fierce team of designers behind me helping to bring my ideas to fruition. I am also a journalist by trade, and writing to me is like breathing. I am one of the fortunate one's who has no idea what writers block is.
Now, back to the process. To write your book we will need to learn about you. This learning process takes the shape of weekly phone calls with Nathan and our in-house ghost writer. During these calls we begin to draw out the ideas and put it all on the kitchen table so to speak. We listen as you tell us your story. We interview you and Nathan begins to direct his questions further and further down the path to where this book intersects with your personal brand and the greatness that your story is destined for.
Over the course of several weeks and sometimes months, we begin to get a very clear picture of your book. Once the outline is complete, we okay it all with you the author, and we begin writing. We check in at various points in the process and once we have a complete manuscript we present it to you. Go over any slight changes, and we begin the publishing process.
And so on and so forth.
From start to finish your book will take between three to five months to be complete, and ready for sale on amazon, audible, and kindle.
